Our firm prepared plans, profile, staking, specifications, bid assistance, and construction observation services for the widening and improvement of Howard Street and Fremont Avenue. This project involved R/W acquisition and new pavement improvements (pavement evaluation and design), curb and gutter construction, new driveway approaches and sidewalk improvements for street improvement/widening for Howard Street & Freemont Avenue in the City of Montclair. Project scope included widening of approximately 2,400-lf of new curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveway approaches and street pavement. Coordination with Southern California Edison (SCE) to relocate existing overhead utilities to accommodate the proposed improvements were also included in the project scope.
Geotechnical (subconsulltant) testing was performed under the direction of IMEG the existing street sections, the data was evaluated to determine the most cost effective street section that would provide the desired life span given the City’s traffic index Criteria. Pavement management criteria was included with the evaluation to determine the appropriate street section and pavement design.
