The new Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin, is fifth in a series of new greenfield hospitals IMEG has designed for the Aurora Health System since 2000. The other new greenfield hospitals in Wisconsin include Two Rivers, Oshkosh, Green Bay, and Summit.
IMEG provided MEP/FP, systems commissioning, and construction administration engineering services for the new $150,000,000, 500,000-sf hospital that features 107 private beds. It is the first LEED-certified hospital in Wisconsin and achieved Silver status. The building’s actual recorded energy use is nearly 25 percent less than the amount permitted by ASHRAE 90.1-2004 and saves over 2,500 tons of CO2 per year.
