Located at the southern edge of Sioux City’s central business district, the Tyson Events Center features a 10,000-seat arena connected to the Sioux City Auditorium. The arena is home of the Sioux City Musketeers Junior A hockey team and the Sioux City Bandits arena football team league. The arena also hosts high school and college basketball, wrestling, rodeos, circuses, conventions/tradeshows and concerts.
The facility consists of 28 skyboxes that ring the arena, 8 dressing rooms, 2 green rooms, and 8 concession stands.
The project is part of a $73,000,000 riverfront redevelopment, titled River’s Edge, to provide entertainment, cultural, and recreational amenities along the Missouri River. The development will better tie the riverfront to downtown.
IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services. Construction observation services were provided during the construction phase.
