Jeff Boldt named ASHRAE Fellow

IMEG Principal Jeff Boldt was recognized as an ASHRAE Fellow at the Society’s Winter Conference held earlier this month in Chicago.

The honor recognizes members who have attained distinction and made substantial contributions in furthering energy efficiency in the heating, refrigeration, air-conditioning, and ventilation industry. Contributions include education, research, engineering design and consultation, publications and mentoring – all of which contribute to ASHRAE’s technological advances for the benefit of the industry and public.

Boldt, PE, FASHRAE, HBDP, LEED AP, FPE, is IMEG’s Director of Innovation and Quality and has more than 35 years’ experience – all with IMEG – in mechanical, acoustical, and fire protection design. His design expertise is in facilities requiring strict control of humidity, temperature, and indoor air quality such as hospitals, laboratories, surgery suites, museums, and industrial plants.

He is a voting member of ASHRAE 90.1, the energy standard that is the basis of nearly all energy codes in the U.S. He also chairs the Hydronics, Elevator, Booster Pump, and Duct System working groups in the 90.1 committee, and is a voting member of ASHRAE SSPC 189.1, ASHRAE’s green building code (in which he chairs the Acoustics Group). Jeff is also one of the authors of the DOE-sponsored Advanced Energy Design Guide for Large Hospitals and the AEDG for Small Healthcare Facilities.

Jeff also has watched every ASHRAE summer and winter meeting seminar since 2004 (2,501 hours), and compiled a Seminars Index spreadsheet listing all seminar presentations at ASHRAE Conferences from January 2011 to June 2017.
